Job Details
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate, creative self-motivated kitchen gardener to work predominantly within the walled kitchen garden and related areas at Lilburn Tower. The private gardens here are established yet with scope for improvement and development and include formal areas, herbaceous borders, lawns, meadows, pond garden and a good collection of trees and shrubs. The Lilburn Estate lies within the scenic Northumberland countryside, close to the Cheviot Hills and a short drive from the beautiful coastline.

The kitchen garden features vegetable and cut flower beds, soft and top fruit, much of it wall-trained and glasshouse crops including peaches, nectarines and grapes. Experience in all of these areas is desirable.
We are seeking a talented, experienced kitchen gardener - someone with a passion for growing year-round seasonal produce and cut flowers while maintaining the highest standards of horticulture. They will need to be highly organised, planning and executing the tasks required throughout the gardening year from propagation and planting to harvest and storage. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and team player, working closely with the head gardener, estate owner and wider team, able to work on their own as well as alongside others.

We would expect candidates to have a minimum RHS level 2 horticultural qualification or equivalent and proven experience in a similar role.
Salary Will Reflect Qualifications And Experience.
A cottage can be available on the estate for the successful applicant.
