Must be courteous to patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and other employees of the organization.
Under the general supervision of the Dietary Manager, and/or designee and within hospital and departmental policies and procedures is responsible for the following duties:
- Prepare and assemble cold food items in accordance with census and hospital specifications.
- Set up patient trays according to menus and diet instructions; assist with delivery of trays when needed and return trays to dietary after meals.
- Supply floor pantries with needed listed food items.
- Clean pantries and clean and defrost refrigerators as assigned.
- Make and deliver requested between-meal nourishments.
- Assist in dish room with de-traying, dishwashing, and storage of clean dish items.
- Take fruit and vegetable inventory twice weekly, as assigned.
- Make coffee for Hospital meetings. Sets up hospital functions under supervision of the Food Service Manager or designee.
- Sweep and mop Kitchen, walk-in, and storeroom floors daily.
- Other general cleaning as assigned.
- Wash pots, pans, and utensils, and help with vegetable prep.
- Completes production for all dietary needs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
