Kitchen Manager/Head Chef
Salary - £34,000 - £38,000 + Bonus

Nestled in the peaceful Somerset countryside, just seven minutes from Taunton town centre, The Stonegallows Inn is a real local favourite — and we’re looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to help us keep the food, team and kitchen running at their best.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves a busy kitchen, takes pride in great food and enjoys bringing a team together. You’ll be at the heart of the operation, leading from the front and making sure every dish that leaves the kitchen is served to a high standard.

As Kitchen Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the kitchen, making sure the team has everything they need to deliver great food consistently.

You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen team
- Maintaining consistently high food quality and presentation standards
- Making sure food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures are always followed
- Managing stock, ordering and controlling waste
- Keeping an eye on kitchen costs and supporting strong GP performance
- Organising the kitchen team and ensuring every service runs smoothly
- Working closely with the wider management team to deliver a great guest experience
- Coaching your team and helping them develop their skills and confidence
- Leading from the front during busy services and setting the standard for the team
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who knows how to run a kitchen and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef or similar
- Experience working in a busy pub, restaurant or high-volume kitchen
- Strong people leadership and communication skills
- A good understanding of food safety, allergens and kitchen compliance
- Experience managing stock, waste and kitchen costs
- A hands-on approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- The drive to develop your team and deliver consistently great food
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great experiences for customers
