Location: Stall Street, Bath

The Pump Room in Bath is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join the team and support the day-to-day running of The Pump Room and evening events.

The Georgian Pump Room has been the social heart of Bath for more than two centuries, and boasts amongst its previous patrons Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.

  • Preparation of food in line with chef direction
  • Keeping the kitchen and restaurant areas in a clean and tidy state at all times.
  • Providing a friendly, efficient, and hygienic service to all customers.
  • Being flexible to work in all kitchens, serveries, staff canteens, and external reception spaces.
  • Ensuring all areas of the kitchens and service areas on all floors are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness, providing a clean and safe working area.
  • Being flexible to work in all areas of the kitchen.
  • Maintaining all catering storage areas, ensuring they are always organized and clean.
  • Receiving, counting, inspecting, and storing goods and/or equipment and dispensing or disposing them to/from departments as and when required.
  • Being involved with some food preparation and service when required.
  • Reporting immediately any incidents or accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities and taking such action as may be appropriate.
  • Reporting any broken equipment to the Executive chef/Head chef.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
