About Us
We are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. This role is perfect for a chef who wants to develop their skills, work with fresh seasonal food, and progress towards a chef position in the future.
Situated in the heart of Chenies, just outside Chorleywood, The Red Lion is home to all who come across it. Located one hour from Kings Cross on the Metropolitan Line, or find us off of junction 18 on the M25.
With a weekly rotating line of craft beers to choose from and an extensive selection of premium spirits, cask ales, and distinguished wines, you will always have something new to discover.
Our delightful seasonal menu features traditional pub classics, rich in local produce and finished with a contemporary touch. All of our dishes are freshly made to order by our wonderful team of chefs, who craft new and exciting plates every week.
Let us not forget that no country pub is complete without a quaint outdoor seating area, with views of the Chilterns’ natural beauty all around you.
This is your chance to join a growing independent pub group and be part of a supportive team in a busy, food-led environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
