Kitchen Porter
Kitchen Porter (Part-Time)
As our Kitchen Porter, you are the heart of our operation to keep the food reaching tables and our guests being served. We are looking for someone who has enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
You do not need to have experience working in a kitchen; what matters most to us is that you take pride in what you do, you are committed to get the job done, and you always come to work with a desire to do better than the day before.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring all equipment is cleaned to the set standard
- Ensuring the deep fat fryer is cleaned according to the cleaning schedule
- Ensuring the dry stores, fridges, and freezers (inside, handles, and seals) are cleaned
- Completing all daily cleaning schedules and signing off
- Completing all opening and closing checklists and signing off
- Ensuring dirty cloths are taken to laundry daily
- Refilling the blue roll dispensers daily
- Ensuring all hand sinks are clean
- Removing all refuse and food waste throughout the day to the bin area and correctly disposing of it
- Ensuring all boxes are broken down and disposed of/recycled correctly
- Following correct cleaning procedures with the use of cleaning schedules
- Ensuring your provided uniform is maintained, worn at all times, and kept in clean condition whilst you are working
- Being aware of the need to use the correct chemicals
- Ensuring all pots, pans, and crockery are cleaned thoroughly throughout the day, put away in the correct place, and dried
- Ensuring a weekly de-staining of all tea pots/dirty crockery
- Ensuring that all food is stored to regulation
- Ensuring the crockery is restocked in the hot cupboard/service areas
- Maintaining a neat appearance of the pot wash area and cleaning equipment storage areas
- Ensuring the kitchen floor is swept and mopped at the end of each shift
- Ensuring all bins are emptied throughout the day and are washed inside and out at the end of each shift
- Being flexible where work and time are concerned

Additional Information
- 15 hours per week - working 3 days out of 7 (including weekends and bank holidays)
- Shift patterns: Evenings 17:00hrs - 22:00hrs
