Role Overview

As a Kitchen Porter at Louma Country Hotel, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen. Working alongside our talented chefs and hospitality team, you will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation, ensuring our guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a busy team environment, and is committed to maintaining excellent standards behind the scenes.


What You'll Do...

  • Ensure all kitchen areas are clean, organised and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Wash and store crockery, cutlery, glassware, kitchen utensils and cooking equipment efficiently throughout service.
  • Keep food preparation and storage areas clean and hygienic in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Assist with the receipt, storage and organisation of deliveries and stock.
  • Safely dispose of waste and recycling, ensuring all areas remain tidy and compliant with hygiene standards.
  • Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of staff areas, kitchen floors, work surfaces and equipment.
  • Follow all health, safety and food hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen operations before and after service.
  • Work collaboratively with chefs and colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Report any maintenance, equipment or health and safety concerns promptly.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Kitchen Leadership team.

What We're Looking For...

  • Previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality or catering environment is desirable but not essential.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Reliable, punctual and organised approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues where needed.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices would be advantageous.
  • Availability to work weekends, early mornings, evenings and peak hospitality periods.
