Kitchen Porter
We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at one of our independent schools in Amersham HP6 5PF.
This is a temporary contract covering two school terms. You’ll work 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:30am to 4:00pm.

About the Role
We’re looking for a positive, honest and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our friendly and hardworking team. You’ll be part of a private school kitchen, supporting the team with the smooth running of the daily meal service and helping to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Your duties will include:
- Washing dishes
- Cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas
- Assisting with basic food preparation
- Handling deliveries
- Supporting the wider kitchen team where needed
We offer good training and opportunities for development and progression within the team for the right candidate.
Skills and Experience
- Have experience working in a similar role and environment
- Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
- Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
- Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
- Have excellent customer service and social skills
- Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
- Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 9
- Be customer focused
- Have basic food knowledge
- Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
