Kitchen Porter – Heard.
Burgers worth gathering for.
Heard. is a premium fast-casual smash burger concept from 2 Michelin-starred chef Jordan Bailey, born from a desire to take an everyday classic and make it quietly exceptional. We combine top-quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients with the rigour and technique of the world’s best kitchens. No gimmicks, no shortcuts - just maximum flavour done right.
After a massive year touring the UK’s biggest events, we opened our permanent home in Borough last year, pairing our signature burgers with considered natural wines, craft beer, and a warm, efficient service style.
Now, with our second site in Soho thriving, we are looking forward to our next chapter. With our third and fourth sites on the horizon, we are looking for dedicated Grill Chefs to join our kitchen team - people who take genuine pride in precision, thrive in a high-energy team, and believe the last burger of the shift should look and taste just as perfect as the first.
The Heard Package
- Pay: £13 - £15 per hour OTE (depending on experience and which Heard. restaurant you’re hired for).
- Benefits: Access to benefits platform from day one including 50% off food and drink in our sites, cycle to work scheme and high street discounts
- Professional Growth: Paid training and qualifications to help you level up your skills on the line and beyond.
- Clear Progression: Built-in career development. We rotate you across all kitchen sections and love promoting from within - this role is your direct path to Grill Chef, Senior Grill Chef or Junior Sous Chef as we expand.
- Your Birthday off!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
