Job Role: Kitchen Assistant/Porter

Location: The Hollies Lower Stretton

Type of contract: Full-time

As a Café Assistant at The Hollies Lower Stretton, you’ll be a key member of a small kitchen team, integral to the daily operations within the department and ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently throughout the day. This is a dynamic, hands-on role and you'll play a key part in maintaining high standards and the overall success of the department. You will be required to support the kitchen team in maintaining standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service & Kitchen Team Support
    Kitchen Porter shifts - washing dishes, keeping kitchen areas clean and tidy, and putting away and stock rotating deliveries
    Assist with Front of House (FoH) Duties
  • Assist chefs with food preparation and service when required
  • Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, safety, and compliance, throughout the kitchen and wash-up areas
  • Assisting the kitchen team with general duties as required
  • Ensuring cleaning schedules are completed
  • Supporting waste management and recycling procedures

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Monitor stock levels, rotate products (fridge and freezer), and minimise waste
  • Organising storage containers, including freezers - receive and store deliveries correctly
  • Keep stock areas orderly and accessible
  • Ensure inventory storage supports efficiency and cleanliness

Additional Duties

  • Must be flexible to work weekends and across various sites within Cheshire
  • Minimum 25 hours per week
  • Must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends
