Job Description
We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to join Din Tai Fung’s Central Kitchen Team in Central London. As a Prep Chef / Kitchen Team Member, you’ll play a vital role in preparing top-quality steamed dumpling products and supporting our kitchen operations to ensure the exceptional dining experience Din Tai Fung is known for worldwide. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Operate dough-making machines to create perfect dough for Dim Sum and other dough-based products
- Craft noodles, cut wonton wrappers, and shape dough-based items with precision and care
- Wrap dumplings and prawn shumais, ensuring each piece is expertly prepared
- Roll out wonton wrappers, ensuring consistency and quality across every batch
- Pack and store finished products efficiently, organising them in the freezer to maintain freshness and quality
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, keeping the kitchen organised and safe while working

Who You Are
We are looking for a Prep Chef / Kitchen Team Member who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and thrives in a busy environment. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in a Prep Chef, Commis Chef, Chef De Partie, or similar role, ideally within Asian cuisine—however, we are happy to train enthusiastic individuals willing to learn
- A passion for food with a desire to work in Dim Sum and dough production
- Proactive attitude and strong work ethic—we want someone who loves learning and growing
- Ready to stand, walk, and move in and out of the freezer (yes, it’s part of the fun!)
- Able to commit to on-the-job training, with milestones and continuous skill development to help you succeed—our training will help you become an expert in Dim Sum and dough-making

What We Offer
- Competitive Pay: Hourly rates start at £13.50 (including troncs), rising to £14.50 once qualified
- Working Week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Contracted Hours: 40:48 hours per week
- Location: Close to Tottenham Court Road Station, West End of London
