Join Our Team at Louma Country Hotel

At Louma Country Hotel, we are passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences through outstanding food, hospitality, and service. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Technician / Porter to join our culinary team and play an essential role in maintaining our high kitchen standards and supporting the delivery of an exceptional food offering.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in cleanliness, organization, teamwork, and delivering excellence behind the scenes.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Technician / Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety across all kitchens and back-of-house areas. You will support the kitchen team with food preparation, stock management, and equipment maintenance, helping to ensure all operations run smoothly in line with company standards and food safety regulations.

You will also contribute to creating memorable and market-leading guest experiences by supporting the culinary team and helping to maintain the exceptional standards.

Kitchen Operations

  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout all kitchen and back-of-house areas.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, machinery, extraction systems, BBQs, ovens, dishwashers, drains, and grease traps.
  • Carry out scheduled deep cleaning tasks.
  • Wash, dry, store, and restock crockery, cutlery, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure food is prepared, stored, and handled safely and in line with company standards.
  • Receive deliveries and check stock quality, quantities, and accompanying documentation.
  • Support stock control procedures and minimize waste.
  • Keep preparation and service areas organized, clean, and fully stocked.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Follow and champion all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
  • Ensure stock is correctly labelled, dated, stored, and rotated in line with FIFO and HACCP principles.
  • Complete required records, including temperature checks, stock records, and cleaning schedules.
  • Comply with HACCP, COSHH, Food Safety, and company operating procedures.
  • Use and maintain appropriate PPE and safety equipment.
  • Identify and report hazards and support a safe working environment for colleagues and guests.

Guest Experience

  • Act as an ambassador for Louma Country Hotel.
  • Support the delivery of a market-leading food and beverage experience.
  • Engage professionally with guests and contribute to the overall retreat experience.

What You'll Bring / About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable, proactive, eager to learn, and open to feedback from senior chefs.
  • Organized, calm under pressure, and attentive to detail.
  • Good communication skills and a positive approach to teamwork to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment and to accept responsibility individually.
  • Flexible and able to work evenings, weekends, and during busy periods.
