Applications are invited for the Full Time post in Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry

Based with NHS Grampian and Hosted MH services (Aberdeen City HSCP)

Become an important part of our team, at the heart of delivering high quality, patient-centred care for the half-million people who live in Grampian.

You will be based predominantly within the Blair Unit, Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen and HMP Grampian. The successful candidate will be joining an established Forensic Psychiatry multidisciplinary team which includes Nursing, Clinical Psychology and Occupational Therapy. The work will include out-patient and in-patient (including Intensive Psychiatric Care – IPCU) elements, with a component of Prison based work at HMP Grampian.

Qualifications and Requirements

• UK Trained Doctors: Should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from the date of interview.
• CESR or Portfolio Pathway Route Doctors: Eligible to apply for a substantive Consultant post once CESR or Portfolio Pathway specialist registration is awarded.
• International Recognised Specialist Qualification: Doctors should have a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
• Locum Consultant Post: Doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months). An application to obtain a CESR or Portfolio Pathway Specialist Registration can be made to the GMC whilst in locum employment.
• GMC Registration: Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post).
