Job Opportunity: Band 4 Medical Secretary

An opportunity has arisen within Aberdeenshire Older Adult Mental Health for a Band 4 Medical Secretary. This is a permanent part-time post based at Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen.

About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver a fully comprehensive medical secretarial and administrative service to Consultant Psychiatrists. They will work autonomously but should also be a confident team player who is able to work with minimal supervision and possess the ability to prioritise their daily workload to meet service demands.

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual who has the ability to be flexible while supporting your colleagues during periods of leave. We are willing to be flexible about how these hours are worked and this post could be suitable for parents of school-age children.

Requirements

  • Previous medical secretarial experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to touch type with experience of audio typing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confidentiality and a sensitive approach to dealing with patients

Applicants should have strong computer skills; experience of NHS systems is highly desirable, as you will be working daily with systems such as TrakCare and Dragon.
