MASTER TECHNICIAN
EXETER | £45,000–£50,000 BASIC | £8,000 OTE ON TOP | £53,000–£58,000 TOTAL EARNING POTENTIAL | MONDAY–FRIDAY 9AM–5:30PM + 1 IN 4 SATURDAY MORNINGS
THE OPPORTUNITY
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Master Technician or highly skilled Diagnostic Technician to join a premium automotive dealership in Exeter.
This is a role suited to someone with strong diagnostic ability, manufacturer-level technical knowledge and the confidence to deal with complex technical issues within a busy workshop environment.
Candidates with a Porsche background would be particularly relevant, although experienced Master Technicians from a strong VAG background are actively encouraged to apply. Technical training and qualifications gained within Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT/Cupra or Škoda environments can provide highly transferable experience for this position.
THE PACKAGE INCLUDES
- £45,000–£50,000 basic salary, depending on experience
- £8,000 OTE on top
- £53,000–£58,000 total earning potential
- Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
- 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
- Premium automotive environment

THE ROLE
- Carrying out complex diagnostic, mechanical and electrical work to a high standard
- Diagnosing faults using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment and technical information
- Investigating and resolving complex technical issues
- Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer standards
- Supporting the wider workshop team with technical advice and fault diagnosis
- Carrying out quality checks and ensuring work is completed correctly first time
- Maintaining accurate records of all work undertaken
- Working efficiently while maintaining consistently high technical standards
- Keeping up to date with manufacturer training, technology and technical developments
- Supporting less experienced Technicians where required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Master Technician, Diagnostic Technician or highly experienced Vehicle Technician
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Manufacturer-level technical training and qualifications
- Experience within a premium, main dealer or VAG environment would be highly advantageous
- Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Škoda or SEAT/Cupra experience particularly welcomed
- Strong understanding of modern vehicle electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to work independently and confidently diagnose complex issues
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Full UK driving licence
