About the Role
This role translates complex legal reasoning into structured, production-ready LLM workflows that support contract intelligence at scale. You will work closely with legal subject matter experts, product managers, engineers, and data scientists to design AI-driven solutions that analyze contractual language, deliver reliable outputs, and create meaningful customer value. The position combines deep contract expertise with hands-on application of AI technologies in real-world legal workflows.
Responsibilities
- Define high-impact use cases for applying LLMs to contract intelligence, including structured data capture, prompt and guidance formulation, failure pattern recognition and exception handling.
- Translate legal reasoning into structured LLM artifacts including prompt architectures, structured output schemas, and evidence-grounded extraction requirements.
- Partner with Engineering and Data Science to move AI capabilities from prototype to production.
- Convert reviewer guidance, clause libraries, and data models into LLM-compatible specifications.
- Design approaches for handling ambiguity, negotiated clause variants, and edge cases.
- Build evaluation frameworks covering accuracy, completeness, hallucination detection, evidence validation, and consistency.
- Integrate AI capabilities into operational workflows and support adoption, training, and performance monitoring.
- Serve as an AI-fluent legal domain expert and contribute to governance, documentation, and release readiness activities.

Requirements
- Experience in legal practice, contract review, contract intelligence, contract management, legal technology, or legal operations.
- Demonstrated fluency with AI and LLM tools, including prompt design, structured outputs, grounding strategies, and model evaluation.
- Experience deploying LLM-powered workflows into production environments.
- Prior experience with contract analytics or contract intelligence platforms.
- Deep expertise in commercial contract analysis, including vendor agreements, procurement contracts, NDAs, and amendments.
- Ability to assess legal equivalence, materiality, and risk implications across clause variations.
- Experience translating legal judgment into structured systems such as schemas, taxonomies, rubrics, and decision trees.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations stakeholders.

Primary Location Base Pay Range:
- Home based-Illinois: $90,900 - $151,700.
- If performed in Colorado: $86,600 - $144,400.
- If performed in Chicago, IL: $95,300 - $158,900.
- If performed in Maryland: $90,900 - $151,700.
- If performed in New York: $95,300 - $158,900.
- If performed in New York City: $103,900 - $173,300.
- If performed in Rochester, NY: $86,600 - $144,400.
- If performed in New Jersey: $102,333 - $163,467.
- If performed in Ohio: $82,300 - $137,200.
- U.S. National Base Pay Range: $86,600 - $144,400.
Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus. Application deadline is 01/01/2027.
