We're KPMG in the UK, part of a global organisation of independent firms that offers Audit, Tax, Consulting and Technology services. More than 16,000 colleagues working together to make the difference for businesses, people and communities.

What is Technology Audit at KPMG?

Technology is changing how organisations work at an incredible pace. From AI and robotics to advanced analytics and blockchain, new possibilities are opening up all the time. But fast-moving technology can also create new risks. That’s where our Technology Audit team comes in. We help some of the world’s biggest organisations understand those risks, strengthen their systems and move forward with confidence.

As part of our wider Audit practice, we combine technology know-how with insight, challenge and expertise to make a meaningful difference for businesses and the wider community.

Technology Audit Graduate Programme

You don’t need to be a technical guru to join us. Our graduates come from all kinds of degree backgrounds. If you’re curious, adaptable, pay attention to detail and want to learn how technology shapes business, you can thrive here.

You’ll work alongside colleagues in Financial Audit to explore the IT systems behind an organisation’s key financial processes. You could assess controls, code and system settings, review business applications and technology infrastructure, or look at major technology projects and cyber security risks.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our firm’s hybrid working model balances the flexibility of working from home with the importance of collaborating and learning in our offices or at the sites of the organisations we audit. We trust our people to be where they need to be, with our colleagues working together in person as often as needed. Some travel is likely for audit work, and because its seasonal, you should expect there to be busy times of the year.

Seeing the whole picture

Technology Audit forms part of our broader Audit practice where you will build friendships and shared experiences, innovating, and learning together. KPMG is a place where you can be yourself and give your best - whoever you are and whatever your background. We look at more than just your academic results and will also consider your strengths, values and motivations. If you’re collaborative and good with people, that can be just as important as your ability to pick up key technical skills. See the specific programme page on our Careers Portal for entry requirements and our ‘Applying to KPMG’ section for detailed application guidance.
