Job title: KS1 Teacher – Southwark
Location: Southwark, London
Salary: £41,729 - £64,684 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
Start date: 9 November 2026
Contract: Full time, temporary, long term.
Hours: Term time; daily hours and assignment arrangements confirmed before placement.
A well-chosen story or a practical maths problem can give a whole class something to talk about. Transparency Education is seeking a KS1 Teacher in Southwark who can turn that curiosity into secure early learning.
You will lead a primary class with a clear focus on literacy, numeracy and children’s growing independence. We are looking for someone who makes learning feel achievable, checks understanding carefully and gives pupils the confidence to have a go.
Responsibilities
- Plan a balanced KS1 curriculum with clear links between lessons.
- Deliver phonics and reading practice that respond to pupils’ starting points.
- Use models, resources and talk to build mathematical understanding.
- Develop classroom routines that encourage participation and independence.
- Review progress with colleagues and communicate constructively with families.

Requirements
- QTS and experience delivering Key Stage 1 teaching.
- Strong knowledge of early reading and age-appropriate assessment.
- The ability to adapt lessons while maintaining ambitious expectations for all pupils.
- An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one as part of the recruitment process.
