KS2 Teacher for Secondary School - Braintree September 2026

A successful secondary school in Braintree is seeking an experienced KS2 Teacher with a strong literacy background to join their team from September 2026. This is a unique opportunity for a primary-trained teacher to support Year 7 pupils who are struggling academically, providing targeted intervention to help them make progress and confidently access the secondary curriculum.

The Role

  • As a KS2 Teacher, you will:
    • Deliver targeted literacy and academic intervention to Year 7 pupils
    • Support pupils with gaps in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and comprehension
    • Use assessment to identify areas for development and track progress
    • Build pupils' confidence, independence and engagement with learning
    • Work collaboratively with secondary teachers and pastoral staff
    • Provide structured, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs

What the School is Looking For

  • The ideal KS2 Teacher will:
    • Hold British QTS or have completed UK teacher training
    • Have strong KS2 teaching experience within a UK primary school
    • Have a proven background in literacy and supporting pupils with gaps in learning
    • Be confident adapting teaching to individual needs
    • Have high expectations alongside a nurturing and encouraging approach
    • Be legally entitled to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
