Summary
Tranby are looking to appoint a permanent, part-time (three days a week) KS2 Teacher starting in January 2027.
Detail
Set in the picturesque west Hull village of Anlaby, Tranby combines a beautiful historic school building, dating back more than 150 years and rich in original character, with extensive grounds, playing fields and purpose-built facilities. Just five miles from Hull city centre, with ample on-site parking and excellent transport links, the school offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful, green setting with a thriving city on its doorstep.
What was once a historic family house, the building has been beautifully transformed into a light, airy space, complemented by a safe and inviting outdoor play area that offers endless opportunities for enrichment and play.
We provide high-quality facilities including science labs, creative arts spaces, and technology-enhanced learning environments. Staff also have access to comfortable workspaces and on-site amenities such as an on-site gym, Astroturf, dance studio and tennis courts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

“I can honestly say that it's the best school I’ve worked in, where morale is good and staff members feel happy to go to work every day. Each staff member is made to feel valued and has their strengths and skills identified and celebrated. This ultimately brings the best out in everyone and creates confident and happy members of staff.”
“I have never worked in a place where staff wellbeing is such a huge priority. The support and range of different things that are available to staff are fantastic.”
“I love working at Tranby. There have been many changes in recent years, swift changes but relevant and positive. I feel very much part of a nurturing extended family where we all look out for each other and quickly spot where and when we need support.”
We are striving to have a more diverse staff body and acknowledge that we are currently under-represented, so we particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates.
If you are looking for a fresh challenge in a positive and supporting working environment, we would love to hear from you. Take a look at the benefits on offer below when you join the ‘Tranby family’.
