Description
We are seeking a motivated KYC Analyst to join our KYC team at Peninsula, a leading global marine energy company.
As part of Peninsula's dedicated First Line of Defence function, you will support the execution of counterparty due diligence activities across the counterparty lifecycle, including onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger event assessments. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will help ensure counterparties are onboarded accurately, efficiently, and in line with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or junior professional looking to develop a career in KYC, compliance, or financial crime prevention. Full training and support will be provided, enabling you to build practical experience in customer due diligence, sanctions screening, beneficial ownership analysis, and risk assessment within a global organisation.
The role offers exposure to a wide range of counterparties and stakeholders across Peninsula's international operations, providing an opportunity to develop strong analytical, research, and stakeholder management skills while contributing to the continued growth of the KYC function.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and complete KYC and external stakeholder due diligence requests for Peninsula group entities worldwide.
- Conduct KYC activities throughout the counterparty lifecycle, including onboarding, customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), periodic reviews, and event-driven reviews.
- Perform identity verification, beneficial ownership analysis (UBO mapping), sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening, and assist in assigning risk ratings in line with company procedures.
- Gather, validate, and maintain KYC documentation, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Maintain a central repository of counterparty information within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other relevant databases.
- Escalate exceptions, risks, data gaps, or unusual findings to the KYC Manager, Legal or senior stakeholders as appropriate.
- Assist in preparing risk assessments and due diligence summaries for review by the KYC Manager.
- Support the development and maintenance of KYC workflows, checklists, templates, filing structures, and process documentation to promote consistency and efficiency.
- Monitor onboarding and review cases, helping to achieve departmental service level agreements (SLAs) through effective case management and prioritisation.
- Assist with updates to KYC procedures and documentation to reflect regulatory requirements and internal policy changes.
- Respond to KYC-related queries from internal stakeholders, providing guidance and support where appropriate.
- Liaise with counterparties and internal teams to obtain outstanding information and resolve due diligence issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain organised and auditable records in line with company procedures and document retention requirements.

Essential
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and experience.
- Strong attention to detail with good analytical and research skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrates curiosity, willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently whilst also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work from the London office a minimum of three days per week.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, and Microsoft Forms.
- Proficiency in a foreign language, particularly Spanish.
