Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced KYC Checker to join their compliance function. This is a dedicated second line checker role, not a KYC maker position, focused on peer review and sign off across Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) files. The successful candidate will independently review completed files, challenge and validate the work of KYC makers, and formally sign off files as meeting internal quality standards, regulatory thresholds, and global policy requirements.
This is a strong opportunity for a detail driven compliance professional with proven checker experience and an investment banking background, to take ownership of file quality across a high volume caseload while working closely with KYC makers to resolve complex remediation issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as checker, performing formal sign off on completed CDD and EDD files reviewed by KYC makers
- Own file reviews, performing quality checks and second line reviews on completed CDD and EDD files
- Validate KYC files against the client's internal quality standards through robust quality assurance processes
- Manage a high volume of KYC cases and periodic reassessments within agreed timeframes
- Proactively identify and resolve complex KYC challenges, working closely with KYC makers to remediate issues
- Ensure risk ratings are applied accurately and align with company policy and regulatory thresholds
- Apply strong attention to detail and accuracy verification across all reviewed files
- Act as a point of escalation for regulatory and quality queries, liaising confidently with stakeholders globally
- Stay current on global KYC regulation and quickly absorb specific internal policies and jurisdictional requirements

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
