About The Job You’re Considering

We’re excited to offer an opportunity to join Capgemini as an Infrastructure Engineer within our L1 Monitoring and Support, supporting a valued public sector client. The L1 Monitoring and Support provides 24x7 support across a range of services, and this role is dedicated to ensuring the stability and performance of a critical client system.

Client site working

This is a 24x7 shift role which includes day and night shifts based on the client site in Wokingham 5 days per week.

Your role

As a key member of the L1 Monitoring and Support team, you’ll work in a collaborative, inclusive environment where your contributions are valued. You’ll be involved in both operational support and project-based activities, with opportunities to grow your skills and career. Your responsibilities will include:

  • System Monitoring: Proactively and reactively monitor IT systems to ensure continuous availability and performance.
  • Incident Management: Investigate and resolve issues, apply known fixes, and follow through on tasks with accountability.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to support seamless service delivery.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to team learning through documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Security & Compliance: Follow established protocols to maintain high standards of security and compliance.
  • Service Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and support delivery against service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Your Skills And Experience

We’re looking for individuals who are curious, collaborative, and committed to delivering high-quality service. You don’t need to meet every requirement to apply, we value potential and a willingness to learn.

  • Experience or familiarity with triaging support tickets and working with infrastructure environments, with the ability to assess, prioritise, and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A methodical, team-oriented approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and understanding of the full solution lifecycle.
  • Interest in or willingness to learn about DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and container platforms.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and professional development.
