Job Description
The College of Engineering and IT at the University of Dubai invites applications for a highly motivated Lab Engineer to support its computing programs. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, with hands-on experience in conducting lab sessions, supporting faculty and students, troubleshooting hardware and software, and working with networking, programming, cybersecurity, and computing lab environments.

Qualifications And Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Practical experience in computing laboratories, including hardware/software installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting laboratory sessions and assisting faculty and students with technical activities.
- Knowledge of networking, programming environments, operating systems, cybersecurity tools, Artificial Intelligence, and virtualization technologies.
- Relevant academic or industry experience is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

- Strong hands-on technical and troubleshooting skills in computing laboratory environments.
- Experience with networking, operating systems, programming platforms, cybersecurity tools, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
- Ability to support faculty and students during practical laboratory and theory sessions.
- Experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and updating laboratory hardware and software.
- Ability to manage laboratory resources, equipment, inventory, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to supporting innovative teaching, practical projects, and emerging computing technologies.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Prepare, configure, and maintain computing laboratories, hardware, software, and related equipment.
- Support and conduct laboratory sessions and provide technical assistance to faculty and students.
- Install, update, and troubleshoot operating systems, software applications, programming environments, networking, and cybersecurity tools.
- Assist students with practical exercises, projects, and laboratory activities.
- Maintain laboratory inventory, technical documentation, equipment records, and safety procedures.
- Support practical projects, demonstrations, workshops, and other academic activities.
- Coordinate with faculty and IT teams to ensure laboratory readiness and effective operation.
- Perform other technical and academic support duties consistent with the role.
