Job Description Summary
About this opportunity
This is a brilliant opportunity to step into a Lab Product Owner role at a pivotal moment for the Asset & Invoice Finance platform.
Powering over 17,000 UK businesses, our Asset and Invoice Finance products are the lifeblood of growth - unlocking cash, fuelling ambition, and keeping the UK economy moving. With a bold strategy to double our book and the investment firmly behind us, this is a rare opportunity to scale a business that doesn’t just support growth - it drives it nationwide.
You’ll co-lead (with our fab Lab Engineering Lead!) a large high-performing lab of ~15 feature teams, delivering critical work to complete our data centre exit while also shaping what comes next — including our 2027 readiness and longer-term 2030 product strategy.
These products are on a strong growth trajectory, and this role offers the chance to balance hands-on delivery leadership with strategic shaping of the future.
This is a 12‑month secondment to cover maternity leave, with an expected start in Q3 (handover from Q2).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
