Duration: 3 months contract

Note: Inside IR 35 (PAYE)

About the Role

As a Lab Technician, you will support chemical testing, sampling, analysis, and monitoring activities within a crude oil refinery environment. You will help ensure accurate results, safe operations, and effective chemical system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze crude oil, process, and water samples.
  • Conduct routine chemical and physical laboratory testing.
  • Monitor chemical injection systems and dosage rates.
  • Record, interpret, and report laboratory test results.
  • Identify abnormalities and support troubleshooting activities.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and consumables.
  • Support chemical system performance and optimization.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
  • Follow HSE, quality, and laboratory procedures at all times.
  • Work closely with field and customer teams to support operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma, Degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a laboratory, analytical, chemical, refinery, or oil & gas environment.
  • Practical experience in sampling, testing, and analysis.
  • Good understanding of laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
