Lab Assistant

You'll build practical skills, gain industry knowledge and have the opportunity to grow your career within our laboratory, quality and technical teams.
Please note this job is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm in our manufacturing lab at Morrich House, 20 Davidson Drive, Invergordon, United Kingdom, IV18 0SA
Your Role:
- Prepare, label and organise laboratory samples in line with site procedures.
- Carry out routine laboratory checks and support testing following clear instructions.
- Support quality checks on raw materials, packaging and finished products.
- Record results accurately and report any issues or unexpected results.
- Keep the laboratory clean, organised and safe at all times.
- Support the calibration, cleaning and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and help keep testing materials stocked.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality and R&D teams to support production and product quality.
- Follow health and safety, hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
- Take part in training and development opportunities as you build your laboratory skills and experience.

About you:
We're looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Whether you're just starting out or looking to build on existing experience, you'll be excited by the opportunity to develop practical laboratory skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. An interest in science, quality or manufacturing is key, and any previous laboratory or regulated industry experience would be a bonus, but not essential.
You will have:
- An interest in science, quality, manufacturing or laboratory work.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Confidence working with numbers, measurements and recording information clearly.
- A safe and responsible approach to work.
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office or similar systems.
- GCSEs, A-levels, HNC/HND or similar in a science-related subject, or a keen interest in developing a science-based career.
- Previous experience in a laboratory, quality or manufacturing environment is a bonus, but not essential.
- Knowledge of GMP, COSHH, laboratory safety or basic laboratory equipment would be advantageous.
