About The Role
Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts seeks a Laboratory Assistant for a public sector client in Leith, specifically Edinburgh Seafield. This full-time, temporary position offers £14.51 per hour across 36 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start. The role involves preparing and cleaning glassware, handling sample logistics, and maintaining stock. Organisation and reliability are essential. A full clean UK Cat B driving licence is mandatory for collections and deliveries. Supporting daily operations, you will keep communal spaces tidy and assist scientific colleagues. The Role
Duties
We’re looking for a reliable and organised Laboratory Assistant to support the day-to-day running of a busy laboratory. Duties will include:
- Preparing, cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment and glassware
- Handling, organising, storing and disposing of samples safely
- Maintaining stock levels of laboratory supplies
- Keeping laboratory and communal areas clean and organised
- Supporting sample deliveries and collections
- Assisting scientific staff with basic laboratory tasks

About You
Ideally, You’ll Have
- A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific subject
- Previous laboratory experience, ideally within a UKAS-accredited environment
- Excellent attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A valid driving licence (essential)
