Purpose of the Job
The Lab Associate is responsible for sample testing, processing, storage, and shipment of all biological samples during the entire life of a study. Completion of all relevant study-specific documentation and organization thereof. Assisting with study set up and end of study documents or activities.
The Laboratory Associate plays a pivotal role in maintaining high standards and operational excellence, fostering a collaborative and skilled team, and proactively addressing any challenges that may arise during the course of a study.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
- To perform laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, analysis, shipment, and data recording.
- Operate laboratory equipment and perform routine maintenance and calibration as needed.
- Assist in the review of internal documents, including but not exclusive to Study Operations Manuals (SOM) and Source Workbooks (SWs) to ensure study design follows the CSP.
- Maintain laboratory stock and inform the lab supervisors or management if supplies are inadequate or not available for laboratory procedures.
- Help maintain laboratory safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and adherence to safety procedures.
- Assist with documentation and record keeping of laboratory procedures, results, and data.
- Participate in laboratory quality control and quality assurance programs, including monitoring equipment performance and participating in proficiency testing.
- Stay up-to-date training and participate in training programs as needed.
- Perform other laboratory duties as assigned.
- To maintain personal training records to the highest standards, ensuring that all relevant examinations are current and that the reading of all SOP’s/SOM’s/CSP’s is up to date to maintain delegation of the lab support associate tasks.
- Coordination and management of personal workload and delegated tasks and coordinate amongst several conflicting priorities.

Qualifications And Experience
- BSc in Life Sciences or related area
- Prior experience in a Clinical Research Organisation (Desirable)
- Previous experience in patient-facing roles (Desirable)
- A current GCP Certificate (Desirable)
