Summary:
Drive quality from the field to the lab!
In this active, high-impact role, you’ll hit the road to safely collect and courier vital water samples across the region for both South East Water and its commercial customers.
On the road, you’ll give great customer service and use your driver experience and common sense to keep every sample safe from pick-up to delivery.
Back at the lab, you will help keep things running smoothly. You’ll organise stock, prepare bottle orders, and carefully unload and label incoming samples.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for the timely collection of water samples from company and client’s premises and for transporting these back to the laboratory in Farnborough.
- To Receive and check samples submitted for testing.
- Use the electronic system to register samples with associated data, ensuring details and tests are entered correctly and completely.
- Work closely with laboratory staff and managers to ensure collection and sampling requirements are understood and fully implemented.
- Communicate with senior members of staff on any quality/technical issue.
- Ensure to adhere to the methods, procedures, quality systems and HSQ requirements set out within the laboratory.
- Assist in the preparation of solutions and chemicals in accordance with company internal procedures.
- Maintain good laboratory practice and housekeeping at all times.
- Help other areas of Laboratory Services e.g. bottle preparation, stock control, etc.
- Responsible for the servicing and cleaning of allocated vehicle.

You'll need:
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
- A valid driving licence is essential
- Clean DBS check is required
- Good level of numeracy and literacy skills
- Be well organised and think logically
- Good customer service
- Previous courier experience
- Understanding of water sampling process
Working hours: 11:00am - 19:00pm
Please note this role covers a 1 in 4 weekend rota with flexible shift-swapping across the team.

Compensation package:
£25000 - £26000 p.a. dependent on experience.
