Laboratory Coordinator (Maternity Cover)
Fixed-Term Contract (12 months)
iGii is looking for a Laboratory Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to support our Research & Development team on a fixed-term basis. This role will be focused on ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of our laboratory environments, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration activities, and supporting the successful delivery of R&D projects.

Your Purpose in the Role
As Laboratory Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enabling R&D excellence across our laboratory spaces within Euro House. You will ensure our laboratories remain safe, compliant, organised and well-equipped, while supporting researchers through training, equipment coordination, laboratory processes and project execution.
You will act as a key point of coordination across multiple laboratory spaces, helping to create an environment where scientific teams can focus on delivering innovative research outcomes.
What you will do and how you will succeed:
- Coordinate the day-to-day operation of our laboratories, ensuring they remain safe, organised and compliant.
- Manage laboratory inductions, training records and equipment registers to support an effective research environment.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration and servicing activities to minimise disruption and maximise laboratory performance.
- Support laboratory audits, health & safety activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with scientists, facilities, quality and external suppliers to ensure our laboratories operate efficiently and effectively.
- Provide hands-on support for research activities, including sample management, documentation and routine experimental work where required.

You will be confident balancing multiple priorities, coordinating activities across different stakeholders, and ensuring critical laboratory processes run smoothly.

Essential
- Previous experience working within a laboratory, research, scientific or technical environment.
- Experience coordinating laboratory operations, processes or equipment.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of laboratory health & safety requirements.
- Experience working within a regulated or quality-managed environment.
- Scientific qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable
- Hands-on experience with electrochemical techniques and biosensor development.
- Experience supporting audits, quality systems or ISO standards.
- Experience maintaining equipment registers, calibration schedules or training records.
- Experience supporting research and development activities.
