Role Description
The Quality Control Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kingston Upon Hull. This position is responsible for overseeing all quality control activities within the laboratory, including:
- Monitoring testing processes
- Reviewing and approving analytical results
- Ensuring adherence to internal procedures and regulatory standards

The Quality Control Manager will collaborate with laboratory staff to:
- Maintain and improve quality systems
- Support method validation
- Train team members on best practices
The individual will also work with clients and regulatory bodies as needed to address quality-related queries and ensure consistent service excellence.
Qualifications
- Experience in quality management within an analytical laboratory or regulated industrial environment (e.g., pharmaceutical, healthcare, cosmetics, food, or specialty chemicals).
- Strong understanding of quality systems, laboratory accreditation standards (such as ISO/IEC 17025 or similar), and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to lead audits, manage documentation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in testing and evaluation processes.
- Proficient in data review, error detection, and root cause analysis, with a structured approach to corrective and preventive actions.
- Effective leadership and people management skills, including mentoring, training, and performance oversight of laboratory staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and communicate with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Comfortable working on-site in a laboratory setting and adhering to all health, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and common analytical instrumentation is an advantage.
