Job Description

  • Manage and coordinate the testing activities in the lab and supervision of further local test activities
  • Organisation of testing operation, assignment of test benches and personnel
  • Select, manage and develop qualified staff
  • Ensure availability of adequate personnel capacities for all lab tasks
  • Contribute to strategic and operative planning with respect to investments, capacity, technical equipment
  • Continuous optimization of operational activities (quality, costs, utilization, availability)
  • Initiate and implement continuous improvement activities
  • Prepare, review and manage the budget and forecast of the lab
  • Ensure that the financial goals are met
  • Tracking and reporting of defined KPIs
  • Initiate and control cost reduction projects
  • Keep test equipment on the current state of the art
  • Support development of measurement and test methods
  • Steer and support implementation of new measurement and test devices
  • Implement all necessary measures for compliance with the applicable occupational Safety & Health guidelines.
  • Support risk assessments, machine approvals
  • Coordinate testing activities in Wigan

Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in production or engineering management, industrial engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years experience with Testing (Rubber) Products
  • Comprehensive experience in rubber and plastic production processes
  • Cross functional experience e.g. in maintenance, quality, supply chain or CBS preferred
  • Experience in the roll-out of standards and/or strategic projects
  • 3 or more years in a leadership position, preferably in in a technical team with functional and disciplinary responsibility for other individuals
  • Experience in working with international teams on operational or technical topics and understanding of foreign cultures
