Job Description
- Manage and coordinate the testing activities in the lab and supervision of further local test activities
- Organisation of testing operation, assignment of test benches and personnel
- Select, manage and develop qualified staff
- Ensure availability of adequate personnel capacities for all lab tasks
- Contribute to strategic and operative planning with respect to investments, capacity, technical equipment
- Continuous optimization of operational activities (quality, costs, utilization, availability)
- Initiate and implement continuous improvement activities
- Prepare, review and manage the budget and forecast of the lab
- Ensure that the financial goals are met
- Tracking and reporting of defined KPIs
- Initiate and control cost reduction projects
- Keep test equipment on the current state of the art
- Support development of measurement and test methods
- Steer and support implementation of new measurement and test devices
- Implement all necessary measures for compliance with the applicable occupational Safety & Health guidelines.
- Support risk assessments, machine approvals
- Coordinate testing activities in Wigan

Qualifications
- University degree, preferably in production or engineering management, industrial engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years experience with Testing (Rubber) Products
- Comprehensive experience in rubber and plastic production processes
- Cross functional experience e.g. in maintenance, quality, supply chain or CBS preferred
- Experience in the roll-out of standards and/or strategic projects
- 3 or more years in a leadership position, preferably in a technical team with functional and disciplinary responsibility for other individuals
- Experience in working with international teams on operational or technical topics and understanding of foreign cultures
