Laboratory Operations Manager
Oxford | On-site
Talentmark is partnering with an innovative biotechnology organisation in Oxford to recruit an experienced Laboratory Ops Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring a safe, compliant and well-equipped environment that enables scientific teams to deliver their research and development programmes. You will take ownership of laboratory operations, health and safety, biosafety, quality systems and compliance, equipment management and procurement, working closely with scientific and operational teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily laboratory operations, inductions, procedures and sample storage.
- Lead laboratory health and safety, biosafety, risk assessments and COSHH compliance.
- Maintain quality systems, SOPs, laboratory records and GCLP-aligned processes.
- Support audits, inspections, deviations and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Oversee equipment servicing, calibration, maintenance and asset management.
- Manage procurement, stock levels, supplier relationships and laboratory budgets.
- Ensure facilities remain safe and operational.

Your Background
Essential
- A degree in life sciences with industry experience in biotechnology, oncology or virology.
- Proven laboratory management experience, ideally in biotechnology regulated research environment.
- Understanding of GCLP principles, laboratory quality systems and COSHH.
- Experience with LIMS, electronic laboratory notebooks or inventory systems.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing competing priorities.

- IOSH or another relevant health and safety qualification.
- Knowledge of the Human Tissue Act.
- Experience with e-procurement platforms, such as Amici.
- Project management experience.
