Technical Planner
Aerofin Laboratories is seeking a highly organised and reliable Technical Planner to join our small, friendly team. You will provide essential administrative and operational support, helping to ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day operations and the delivery of an excellent service to our customers. This is a varied role involving customer communication, job administration, planning and progression, stock management, logistics, and general office administration. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a busy environment, managing multiple priorities, and communicating confidently with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include, but is not limited to:
- Answering incoming telephone calls and responding to emails and customer enquiries.
- Receiving, booking in, and registering customer test items and jobs.
- Supporting contract reviews and generating work orders.
- Planning and monitoring jobs through the laboratory, providing progression updates where required.
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, laboratory personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure jobs progress smoothly and customers receive an excellent service.
- Making outbound calls to customers regarding jobs, requirements, updates, and general enquiries.
- Assisting with report preparation.
- Maintaining accurate records, filing, and general administrative documentation.
- Managing stock levels, placing purchase orders, and liaising with suppliers.
- Coordinating shipping, deliveries, and logistics of customer test items and materials.
- Assisting with social media and other company communications.
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring customer and company information is handled appropriately.
- Supporting the wider team with general administrative and operational tasks as required.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills.

- The ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with general office software.

- The ability to handle confidential and commercially sensitive information appropriately.
- Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers, and colleagues by telephone, email, and in person.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of laboratory practice and the requirements of ISO 17025. Experience of surface coatings, Aerospace, and Nadcap is also desirable. We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and customer-focused, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. You will be an important part of our small team and will play a key role in ensuring that our office and laboratory operations run efficiently.
