About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join this busy department in a key role as a Laboratory Purchasing and Facilities Technician which underpins activities within our research laboratories based in the hospital. The successful candidate will support the Laboratory & Facilities Coordinator in the oversight and management of procurement of goods and other services on behalf of the Department and/or research groups in order to ensure smooth running of the Goods-in Store's service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor stocks of compressed gases, liquid nitrogen, dry ice, including assisting a liquid nitrogen Cell Bank
  • Oversee glass washing and waste stream disposal (clinical, WEEE, chemical etc)

Training and Experience

  • In house training will be provided to gain significant hands-on experience in facilities support and to gain working experience within a laboratory and hospital setting

Role Requirements

  • Adaptability and the ability to remain calm in situations where priorities can change at short notice
  • Good level of physical fitness due to manual handling requirements
