Laboratory Supervisor

Our client is an established international business specialising in advanced scientific and analytical instrumentation.

The company provides high-value technology to customers across a broad range of scientific and industrial markets and has experienced significant growth in recent years, expanding both its commercial team and product portfolio.

The Role

Laboratory Supervisor: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a large demonstration laboratory housing an extensive range of advanced analytical instrumentation.

The laboratory plays an important role within the commercial operation, regularly hosting customer demonstrations, product testing, technical seminars and internal events.

Rather than spending your day carrying out testing, your focus will be ensuring the laboratory is organised, compliant and ready for Sales Engineers, Product Managers and customers to use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day running and organisation of the demonstration laboratory
  • Ensure the laboratory is prepared and customer-ready for demonstrations, testing and seminars
  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and COSHH compliance
  • Manage demonstration equipment, chemicals, samples and laboratory inventory
  • Coordinate the setup of analytical instrumentation for customer demonstrations
  • Ensure laboratory processes and procedures are followed consistently
  • Support customer visits, seminars and technical events
  • Monitor laboratory readiness and equipment availability
  • Identify opportunities to improve the organisation and operation of the laboratory
  • Work closely with Sales Engineers, Product Managers and the wider Operations team

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within a laboratory, scientific instrumentation or similar technical environment
  • Exposure to analytical or scientific instrumentation would be advantageous
  • Understanding of laboratory Health & Safety and COSHH
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence taking ownership of a laboratory environment
  • Comfortable interacting with customers and commercial teams
  • Genuine interest in technology and learning about new analytical equipment
  • Proactive approach with the confidence to introduce new ideas
  • Ambition to develop and progress within a growing organisation

  • £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
