About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory System Solutions and Support Engineer for Pharmaceutical Laboratory Systems, specializing in laboratory instruments, instrument connectivity, data integration, and laboratory application ecosystems. The ideal candidate will combine strong hands-on experience supporting laboratory instruments and systems with the technical architecture expertise required to troubleshoot and implement integrations between laboratory equipment and applications such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), and Scientific Data Management Systems (SDMS).

The role covers a broad range of laboratory instrumentation, from simple analytical devices such as balances, pH meters, and titrators to complex analytical platforms such as Chromatography Data Systems (CDS), Mass Spectrometry (MassSpec) systems, and associated laboratory software. The successful candidate will serve as the technical authority for instrument connectivity, data acquisition, data flow, interface design, and troubleshooting across pharmaceutical laboratory environments. They will work closely with laboratory users, QC and analytical teams, IT, automation, CSV/CSA, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure reliable, secure, compliant, and fit-for-purpose laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

Laboratory Instrumentation Expertise

  • Act as the SME for a broad portfolio of pharmaceutical laboratory instruments, including:
    • Basic to intermediate instruments:
      • Analytical and precision balances, pH meters, conductivity meters, titrators, moisture analyzers, dissolution testers, and similar laboratory equipment.
    • Advanced analytical instruments:
      • HPLC, UPLC, GC, ion chromatography, and associated Chromatography Data Systems (CDS).
    • Complex analytical platforms:
      • Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS), spectroscopic instruments, and other advanced analytical systems.
    • Understand instrument operating principles, software architecture, data acquisition mechanisms, and connectivity capabilities.
    • Assess instrument capabilities, vendor software, communication protocols, drivers, and interface requirements.
    • Support instrument onboarding, installation, configuration, qualification, troubleshooting, upgrades, and lifecycle management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
