Job Description

Job Title: Laboratory Team Leader - Contamination

Job Type: Temporary 12 Months

Location: Cambridge

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm

Salary: from £28,000 pa

Industry: Health & Nutrition - Food


Overview

To manage the maintenance and operation of blending & extraction instrumentation to enable high standards of analytical preparation, ensuring that requirements of ISO 17025 (accredited by UKAS) are met.

  • Manage and supervise a team of technicians, including scheduling, workload allocation, and performance monitoring, driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Lead and support a team of technicians within the Blending and extraction lab
  • Oversee calibration of equipment and quality requirements are met in the department.
  • Manage inventory of consumables, reagents, and spare parts to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality Assurance, R&D, or Production to support business goals

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience already in a senior lab position and looking to take their next step up, or a junior team leader looking for a better fit!

  • Degree level qualified in Chemistry
  • Experience with working in a contract laboratory
  • Experience in working in a high volume turnaround environment
