Job Description

We're looking for a Technical and Testing Support Officer to join our amazing team in the Lab at Head Office. This role is also ideal for anyone currently in a junior position looking to step up.

The Role

Based at Enderby Head Office, Leicester. Typically 5 days in the office, with flexible hours between 8am and 6pm.

At Next, our commitment to quality has been central to the brand since our launch in 1982. We're proud to have an on-site laboratory where a talented team meticulously tests everything from fabric, clothing, homeware, footwear and accessories. This dedicated team is responsible for upholding our renowned quality standards, ensuring our product earns the Next stamp of approval.

We're fortunate to have such a unique and knowledgeable facility in-house. This team's expertise, combined with their ability to collaborate with global labs, is what truly sets them apart.

As a Technical and Testing Support Officer, your role is pivotal in maintaining our lab's high standards and operational efficiency. You'll be instrumental in managing our Quality Management System to meet requirements and ensuring meticulous attention to detail across all our processes.

If you are passionate about quality, safety, and continuous improvement in a dynamic lab setting, then this could represent the ideal next step in your career journey.

What You’ll Take On

  • Manage the Quality Management System in line with ISO 17025, including reporting on audits, correlations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct daily and monthly checks, monitor standard atmospheric data, and review sub-contractor performance.
  • Oversee all aspects of document control, implement impartiality and confidentiality agreements, and manage corrective action plans.
  • Manage the calibration and maintenance of equipment, ensuring certificates are up-to-date and reviewing uncertainty of measurement and decision rules.

What You’ll Bring

We’re seeking an organised and detail-oriented individual with excellent time management skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment. You're adept at working under pressure and driven to deliver urgent results without compromising on quality.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
