Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician (Cell Biology Support) to join a leading biotechnology research company based in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to contribute to the daily operations of a busy research laboratory focused on cutting-edge cell biology projects.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting routine laboratory activities, maintaining essential supplies, and ensuring a safe and organized working environment. This role offers a chance to work within a dynamic team committed to scientific innovation, with potential for long-term extension or a permanent position.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Your duties as the Laboratory Technician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Support routine laboratory activities, including assisting with mycoplasma testing and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage and monitor laboratory equipment and consumables, including changing CO2 gas cylinders and maintaining stock levels.
- Raise purchase orders and coordinate the procurement of laboratory supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Handle laboratory waste disposal, decontaminate equipment, and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- As the Laboratory Technician, you will support general housekeeping activities and assist scientists with ad hoc laboratory tasks to ensure seamless research workflows.

Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Laboratory Technician, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Life Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology).
- Proven experience working within a laboratory environment, supporting cell culture activities advantageous.
- Good understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures and experience handling laboratory consumables, stock management, and ordering.
