Bilfinger UK are currently recruiting a Laboratory Technician for a Fixed Term contract, 2/3 rotation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain an auditable record of all temporary chemical injection pumps
- Ensure that all chemical pumps are appropriate for the required task
- Ensure that the appropriate risk assessment and safety related reviews have been undertaken by the appropriate TA, particularly pertaining to a pump discharge pressure, line pressures, relief valve setting, chemical compatibility with wetted parts
- Maintain an auditable record of pressurised sample containers
- Responsible for routine lab analysis specified in the analysis matrix including fiscal, regulatory and quality compliance sampling
- Carry out fiscal sampling to the required standard and maintain records
- Provide preliminary tests of debris submitted to the lab for investigation (working in association with onshore chemistry)
- Use the best judgement to conduct testing within the resources of the offshore lab facility in a fit condition.
- Be responsible or the maintenance or defined laboratory testing equipment, specifically to ensure that the lab materials used in routine analyses are within date and calibrated
- Responsible for working with operations to ensure procedures are followed for decanting of chemicals to bulk storage vessels.
- Provide technical advice and support to chemical vendor trials, ensuring that the best value is gained from each trial while ensuring that they are commissioned in a safe and efficient manner
- Liaise with chemical vendors on general application matters
- Provided training when requested to do, for personnel on chemical matters
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during visits by their inspectors to the installation under direction of the platform management.
- Work with operations to become familiar with the production facilities and develop an understanding of the platform operations.

- Experience gained working in a similar role in the Petroleum Industry (onshore or offshore) or in the onshore Petrochemical Process industry
- Familiar with carrying out routine Laboratory analysis
- Able to carry out audits to ensure procedural work activity compliance
Qualifications
- Mandatory Offshore Certs (BOSIET, Medical, MIST, Norwegian Escape Chute)
- Educated to HNC/HND level in Chemistry or related discipline or equivalent experience
- ERT Training (desirable)
