Introduction
As an Arla Laboratory Technician at our Aylesbury Dairy, you will analyse and evaluate products and raw materials to ensure that quality and approved analysis standards are met.
Working a 12 hour day shift pattern, you will monitor the Laboratory quality system, compliance and effectiveness through planned audits and independent process control checks to ensure that our products comply with food safety legislation, meet the technical and quality specification and are manufactured at best cost.
So what do our Laboratory Technician actually do?
As a Laboratory Technician you will be:
- Sampling raw materials
- Monitoring the manufacturing process and finished goods in terms of chemical and microbiological analysis
- Conducting micro analysis of samples as per specified methods
- Carrying out product sensory panels to meet requirements and ensure that all quality and food safety checks are carried out satisfactorily
- Informing the Technical Team of results outside specification for instigation of corrective actions
- Responsible for control of the Non-conformance data base

What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role
We are looking for a motivated team player who is also able to work using their own initiative. Ideally you will have:
- Practical experience of good laboratory practices
- Experience of working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment working within QA / Sensory
- Microbiology testing experience is preferred but not essential
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- PC literate with the ability to interpret analytical and microbiological data
- Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
