Laboratory Technician – Immunochemistry
Our largest UK site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join the Immunochemistry team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Displays good working knowledge of routine use and maintenance of equipment relevant to the area.
- Performs equipment verifications and calibrations (pipettes, balances, pH meters, plate readers, etc).
- Prepares reagents, buffers, and other study-related solutions as needed.
- Provides general lab cleaning, expired reagent monitoring, and glassware washing.
- Manages the inventory, ordering, E-Workbook registration, storage, organization, and disposal of laboratory supplies. These may include critical reagents, chemicals, consumables, and matrix.
- Performs freezer and refrigerator maintenance, oversees organization.
- Maintains water systems, performs readings, or sends samples out for testing.
- Provides ideas, supports, and participates in process improvement initiatives.
- Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment. Demonstrates understanding of Health and Safety compliance by ensuring that policies/SOPs and training are up to date.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma / educated to A-level or equivalent
- Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages).
Additional Job Standards:
- Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Willingness to learn
- Good attention to detail
- Follow guidelines and SOPs to the letter
As a Laboratory Technician within our Immunochemistry team based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire you will play an integral part in achieving our mission by providing laboratory-based technical and operational support to colleagues working on studies on a wide variety of studies including ELISA and ADA assays.
Whilst training, you will learn a broad range of standard technical laboratory skills and techniques including how to work to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and work closely with many teams within the department. The Laboratory technician role is a fantastic introduction to the drug development industry and the start of an exciting career in Labcorp.
