Role Description
This full-time, on-site Laboratory Technician role is based in Leeds and supports daily laboratory operations and testing activities. The Laboratory Technician will:

- Prepare samples
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Perform routine and specialized tests in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Document results accurately
- Contribute to quality control processes
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with other laboratory professionals
- Assist with troubleshooting technical issues
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment

This position requires attention to detail, reliable time management, and adherence to Labcorp’s high standards for data integrity and patient-focused service.
Qualifications
- Strong laboratory skills, including sample handling, basic experimental techniques, and familiarity with laboratory procedures.
- Experience working with laboratory equipment, including operation, routine maintenance, and safe handling.
- Solid understanding of quality control practices and regulatory compliance in a laboratory setting.
- Analytical skills to interpret test results, identify anomalies, and assist in troubleshooting technical issues.
- Prior experience in a Laboratory Technician or similar technical role in a clinical, research, or industrial laboratory.
- Relevant education such as a diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science) is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy in documentation, and ability to follow detailed protocols and safety procedures are required.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary laboratory teams are beneficial.
