ABOUT YOU:
You are a motivated and organised laboratory professional with a passion for delivering accurate, high-quality analytical results. With experience working in a UKAS-accredited environment, you thrive in a fast-paced setting, can manage competing priorities effectively, and take pride in maintaining high technical and quality standards. You enjoy working collaboratively, supporting colleagues, and sharing your knowledge to help develop others while continuing to build your own skills and expertise.
Required skills and experience:
- Degree/Higher National Certificate preferable in related scientific subject and have working experience working in an UKAS accredited laboratory
- Previous experience in Gas Chromatography Techniques preferable, both conventional and MS preferred
- Can demonstrate exceptional organisational skills to ensure priorities are met and the ability to plan and organise day-to-day workload with minimal supervision
- Willing to be “hands on” working at all levels
- Good time management and an ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- IT literate to include good level of skills in MS Office software
- Flexible approach to working hours
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our busy analytical laboratory. Working alongside experienced scientists and technical specialists, you will perform analytical testing, prepare reports, and ensure work is completed in line with client requirements and UKAS standards. This is an opportunity to broaden your technical capabilities, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and make a real impact within a globally recognised organisation.

Key activities:
- Perform and support the prioritised daily workload of the analytical team is performed efficiently and effectively in accordance with both approved technical standards and client instructions
- Collation of the sample analysis results and preparation of final reports for proof reading and issue to clients.
- Report signatory as required on reports where authorised
- Representative of the company externally, including with clients and professional/technical bodies
- Provide training and mentoring to junior staff in routine analytical techniques, including agreed training plans
- Inspire and communicate to ensure that team members work together as a cohesive team to constantly improve performance and achieve results.
