ABOUT THE COMPANY

Yellowstone Biosciences is a biotechnology spinout company located in Oxford, whose goal is to pioneer new cancer treatments using advanced T-cell therapies based on groundbreaking research from the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Oxford.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Laboratory technician to work in our laboratories across to provide technical support alongside lab-based scientists to improve the efficiency of our lab processes and maintain a well-functioning and safe laboratory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare cell culture reagents using strict aseptic techniques
  • Perform routine cleaning, decontamination, and in-house maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Prepare buffer solutions, reagents, and microbiological media, including media plates
  • Provide operational support to laboratory teams through stock control, purchasing, and distribution of laboratory reagents and consumables
  • Manage laboratory waste streams, including appropriate disposal and recycling procedures
  • Operate, organise, and maintain glassware and plasticware washing processes, including autoclave use
  • Support the Laboratory Manager to ensure Yellowstone Biosciences maintains full regulatory compliance with the safe operation of laboratory facilities and the building
  • Work in accordance with company Health and Safety policies, with particular emphasis on laboratory safety standards

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Worked within a similar role in a biotech company
  • Experience in a Protein Science, Cell culture, Microbiology or Cell Biology laboratory
