About The Role
Pertemps Gloucester (Chiltern) Industrial seeks Laboratory Technicians for a full-time, permanent post in Tewkesbury. Working 40 hours weekly at £13.50 per hour, equivalent to £28,080 annually, the successful candidates will support the Quality and Process team within a manufacturing setting. Pertemps are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to support the Quality and Process team within a busy manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a scientific or laboratory background who enjoys a hands-on role involving chemical analysis, quality investigation, and process control testing.
The Role
As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining quality and process standards across manufacturing operations. You will carry out routine chemical analysis, laboratory testing, and quality investigations to ensure manufacturing processes remain compliant, consistent, and operating within specification.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine chemical analysis of process solutions to ensure manufacturing processes remain within specification
- Monitor process chemistry and carry out chemical additions and adjustments as required
- Perform laboratory testing and quality investigations to support product compliance and root cause analysis
- Produce accurate test reports and maintain detailed laboratory records and documentation
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to assess product quality and conformance
- Maintain calibration records and ensure traceability of laboratory equipment and test samples
- Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals safely in accordance with COSHH regulations and company procedures
- Support investigations into non-conformances, process deviations, and customer quality concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in line with 6S principles
- Assist with the movement and handling of chemicals and laboratory materials where required
- Ensure all testing and laboratory activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Candidate Requirements
- A-Level Chemistry (or equivalent) or a relevant scientific/laboratory qualification
- Previous experience carrying out chemical analysis or laboratory testing, ideally within a manufacturing or process environment
- Understanding of COSHH and safe chemical handling procedures
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and record keeping
- Good report writing and data recording skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Physically capable of safely lifting and handling loads up to 25kg in line with manual handling procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of industry quality standards or willingness to undertake further training
- Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment
- Forklift Truck Licence
- Understanding of quality investigation and root cause analysis techniques
