Our Wisbech factory makes some of the UK’s most well-known and much-loved brands, such as Felix, Winalot and Gourmet and is constantly developing to meet the changing needs of our consumers. This factory has gone through significant capital investment on new lines and new exciting technology leading to a transformational change in facilities and performance which offers fantastic development opportunities to continue to drive and lead this change.
We’re currently recruiting for a Labour Planner to join our team and help drive operational excellence through effective labour planning within our Wisbech factory.
Your Impact
As a Labour Planner, you will be responsible for delivering a forward-looking labour plan that enhances efficiency, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. You will play a key role in improving our labour planning processes and systems, ensuring that the right people are in the right place at the right time.

Your expertise will be crucial in optimising workforce allocation and driving performance improvements across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead the site Labour Planning activity to ensure that the right people with the right skills are deployed effectively across production lines.
- Labour Planning: Create and maintain an optimal labour plan for the Wisbech site, taking into account factors such as skills, training, holidays, absences and working time directive guidelines.
- Resource Optimisation: Drive optimal labour utilisation to minimise overtime, reduce agency spend, and eliminate unproductive labour hours.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with Shift Managers, Shift Engineering Managers and Supply Chain Planners to ensure effective workforce allocation and responsiveness to operational needs.
- Performance Monitoring: Act as the first point of contact for labour adjustments in response to plan performance or shortages, ensuring alignment with Labour Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the Factory Operational Master Plan.
Your Ingredients for Success
To be successful in the role of Labour Planner you will demonstrate the ability to manage team performance, coach others, and drive continuous improvement. A proactive and organised mindset is crucial, along with the capability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience: Proven track record of working in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating expert knowledge and understanding of operational processes.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to manage team performance effectively, providing coaching and guidance to foster continuous improvement.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication and influencing skills, enabling collaboration across diverse teams.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Technical Proficiency: Computer literate, with prior experience using Microsoft Excel, Indeavor Labour Demand Planning and other relevant IT software.
